There are so many intentional leaks, misdirections, headfakes going on here that I have no idea what to make of it.

ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf and Jennifer Parker reports: As Delaware Sen. Joe Biden was leaving his house in Wilmington this afternoon, he slowed down and said to the gathered news reporters outside his home: "Hey guys, I'm not the guy. See ya."

If this is true and it's not Biden than that leaves Clinton, Sebelius or Kaine (Sweet God, anyone but him).

I hope that it's Hillary, but given how much Obama loves him, I won't be shocked to see him pick Kaine.

Actually, at this point we know it's not a Republican (because Dean and Pelosi and Reid would already have to know if a stunt like that was going to be pulled). I could deal with Biden or Bayh if it's not Clinton, but Kaine? I'm hearing a lot more people who typically vote Republican say they are not voting at all. I have no idea what that means at this point. Hopefully McCain is just making them ill. He's making me ill.

I don't know that much about Kaine, but like what I have read about him. He seems good on the environment, good in opposition to the DP (although as governor of VA he has had to oversee executions, has vetoed expansion of their use), generally decent and progressive. I can understand strong opposition to Bayh, he is very conservative, but why Kaine?

The rap on Kaine (mostly from the Clinton folks) is he is Pro-life, which is false-he is PERSONALLY Opposed to Abortion, but wants to keep it legal...

My feeling is Kaine just doesn't bring to the ticket what Obama needs, a strong foriegn policy partner, a strong attack dog to really go at McCain...

I like Wes Clark, because he CAN go at McCain and maybe get passed his greatest shield: His Military bonafides.

On Nov 4th, Barack Obama officially ends the Southern Strategy....

Clark would be my pick.

One of my all time favorites, Mario Cuomo, also was personally opposed to abortion but did did not believe in legislating against it. Actually, so am I, but like Mario and Kaine would never believe in a government's right to legislate that. I'm not sure what the fuss is about, the test is one of public policy.

Obama can't stand down, so to speak, against McCain. He doesn't have to. Obama needs a good, economically experienced, red state tested, post partisan woman who looks like she can run the country just in case POTUS needs to really focus on international/security issues. Either Sebelius or Clinton fit that profile. Sebelius got backed down by the no tax crowd and compromised and still got props (and re-elected) for it. She didn't get backed down by insurance companies, however. Hillary has already been there and knows how to deal with them on a national basis while addressing a whole range of other issues. So take your pick. I think he needs Clinton. Kaine would be a weight down.

Please not Kaine, only Bayh or Hagel would be worse of the names seriously mentioned.

Obama needs to pick Hillary, this election is too important not to have the strongest ticket possible. Obama/Clinton 08 is the dream team.

Of course he said that. Because Obama's "the guy" reporters should be paying attention to.

Biden's got a sense of humor. He was probably bemused by the attention and decided to throw some sand in the air to see who'd jump. Then he went golfing.

I've actually hung out many times with Biden on Amtrak. He has a fierce sense of humor. I've had some great conversations with him. Talked with John Kasich as well. Give anyone any ideas? Fox would become a campaign arm for McCain. Oh, wait. They are already.

Recommended for inanity. After an epically bad book about inanity. They say McCain is going with Lieberman. It would be like the Old Couple, with a really nasty edge.
